Happy belated Mother's Day to all you wonderful mommies out there! I hope that you had as relaxing and peaceful a day as I had. Actually, my entire weekend, from Friday through Sunday, was pretty darn great. Thanks, Gil, for the cooking, cleaning and kid watching!

You may recall that we were house-hunting a few months back. We found a house, it was great, beautiful, move-in-ready, too good to be true. Well, about two weeks before the closing, the whole deal ended up in the crapper, and we were back to square one. Since then, we've looked around quite a bit, and have found something else that we hope will work out even better. More property, more gorgeous live oak trees. The house needs LOTS of work, though, so it will be some time before we can move in. Of course, we haven't closed yet, so I guess that I am getting ahead of myself. Here are a few shots of the yard. It's really beautiful, and we love it (except for the freaking water moccasins that hang out in the bayou).

My beautiful, smart, wonderful (etc., etc.) daughter Caroline received an award at Catholic High's awards ceremony last week. Based on her standardized test scores from 6th grade, she qualified (along with 26 of her classmates) to take the ACT as a 7th grader. Same ACT that the 11th graders take. Anyway, she earned the highest score out of all 7th graders who took the test - a 23! She's in the 7th grade! Can't wait to see how she does when she takes it as a junior in high school! Here's the layout I made for her scrapbook.

Have a great day, and thanks so much for taking the time to visit. :)
