The World According to Jeanne

So much to tell today! A minute ago, I googled my name (I couldn't remember the exact name of my blog to share w/a friend) and found my name on the CKC-Phoenix website, listing me, yes me, as the FIRST PLACE WINNER of the Simple Scrapbooks page layout contest I entered when I was at the convention. OMG! I am totally elated! I entered on the first of three days, and at the time, there were 41 entries. I hope that all the rest weren't crapola and I won by default! It was the page I did about Matthew's nursery. So now I'm wondering who the judges were. Cathy Zielske, Creative Director of Simple, and also my beloved, was there. Did she see my layout?? I think that once Design Team winds down in a couple of months I am going to devote some time to submitting pages to Simple, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends and Scrapbooks Etc. Just finished my latest "Design Your Life" layout. I created the page following a sketch given in class. I am still working on the first week's lesson on symmetry. I wish this class would last more than 12 weeks, it is that amazing. Anyway, here's my layout! We were told what color cardstock to use, where to put photos, what size photos and where to put the title. I hope Matthew won't mind the flowers when he's old enough to understand that flowers are "girly".

Gil & I had a great weekend in New Orleans! We got together with lots of friends from his Ochsner days, ate entirely too much, and totally relaxed. Let's just say that the Jenny Craig people were not smiling at my weekly weigh-in yesterday. I'll try to post a picture from Pat O'Brien's soon!
